Fare checker in the Rheinbahn app
- You can store your season ticket and other tickets you have already purchased offline in the Rheinbahn app under “My Tickets”.
- Every timetable request now includes a check as to whether the ticket is valid and can therefore be used for the selected journey.
- If the stored ticket is not sufficient for the selected journey, we’ll recommend the appropriate ticket, which can then be purchased through the app.
- Tickets purchased through the Rheinbahn app and in the online shop are automatically stored and taken into account when you request timetable information.
- Please note that the tickets stored in the fare checker are only used for timetable information and will not be accepted during a ticket inspection. The original season ticket or other ticket must be carried with you when travelling.
Changing the chip card
You can also save your chip card directly as a digital ticket in the Rheinbahn app, which is also valid during inspections:
Simply select the subscription section in the main menu, click on "Activate barcode" and follow the next steps.
Please note: The chip card loses its validity when you switch to a digital ticket.
