AGB change from chipcard to barcode

To take out a new subscription or manage an existing subscription with the Rheinbahn App, you need a “My Rheinbahn” account with Rheinbahn AG. You can only manage your subscription using the Rheinbahn App.

1. Change of chipcard to a mobile ticket in the Rheinbahn App
Travel authorisation for the VRR network (the ÖPNV Ticket) may only be used on one carrier medium at the same time.

After you have decided to change your travel authorisation from the chipcard to the mobile Tickets/Barcode, the chipcard will be blocked automatically. Thus, as owner of a chipcard, after the change has been completed (after you have received your subscription as a mobile Ticket), you must return the invalid chipcard to a Rheinbahn Customer Centre or send it by post.

In the event of loss of or failure to submit your chipcard, you will be charged a fee of 10 euros.

2. Rheinbahn App AGB
The Terms and Conditions already agreed for use of the online distribution of tickets via the Rheinbahn App Shop continue to apply and are extended with these Terms and Conditions.

3. Changing back to the chipcard
Changing back from a mobile ticket in the Rheinbahn App (Barcode Ticket) to a chipcard is only possible in person in one of our Rheinbahn Customer Centres.
