The local transport in Duesseldorf is an important part of the city´s history. Starting with the first horse train 1876, it is inseparably connected with the development of the city.

The "Linie D" society is actively involved in the multifaceted history of the Duesseldorf region as well as the city trams, long distance trains, buses, transport companies and the railway carriage construction industry. Rheinbahn and Linie D work closely together so that trips on historical vehicles can still be experienced.

Line D during a historical city round trip		Assistance at historical city round trips Since 1991 the Rheinbahn has been running public circular tours with the old-timer Duesseldorf trams. The personnel on these trips (driver, conductor and tourist guide) work unsalaried for "Line D".
