Düsseldorf International Airport
You can travel to Düsseldorf Rhein-Ruhr Airport by S-Bahn and Rheinbahn almost around the clock.
Passengers landing at the airport can buy their tickets at the Deutsche Bahn travel center, the VRR ticket machines and from Rheinbahn bus drivers.
For journeys within Düsseldorf (e.g. from the airport to central station or vice versa), a Zone A ticket is necessary.
Depending on the airline, some flight tickets include the trip to or from the airport. You will find information about that on your flight ticket.

Main line railway station Düsseldorf Airport
The new main railway station Düsseldorf Airport is located between Duisburg and Düsseldorf and therefore on the main axis of the European rail system. All S-Bahn trains on line S1, some Regional Express, Regional Bahn and DB long-distance trains stop there. The station is served by bus routes 729, 759 and 776 via Düsseldorf-Lichtenbroich.
The transfer to and from the airport by SkyTrain
The main station and the airport terminals are connected by SkyTrain. The monorail travels from "Düsseldorf Flughafen Bahnhof" via "Parkhaus 4" (car park) to the terminus at "Terminal A·B·C" and back - every 4 minutes. The SkyTrain operates daily from 3:45 am to 12:45 am. The journey between the two points takes about five minutes.
For the SkyTrain you need a regular Rheinbahn or Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr ticket. It is also possible to use tickets of the DB, Rail&Fly-Tickets, Parking tickets of Apcoa Autoparking GmbH and tickets for the spectators' terraces at the airport for the SkyTrain.
S-Bahn station Düsseldorf Airport, Terminal
With S-Bahn line S11, which stops at the underground station of Düsseldorf Airport Terminal, passengers can travel conveniently to the center of Düsseldorf (Hauptbahnhof, Wehrhahn).
Airport bus station, central terminal
The bus station is in front of the Reisemarkt near the underground S-Bahn station.
It is served by the following bus routes:
- SB 51 (Airport - Theodor-Heuss-Brücke - Meerbusch-Büderich - Kaarst)
- 721 (Airport - City center - central station - Tannenhof)
- 727 (Airport - Freiligrathplatz - Lohausen)
- 760 (Airport - Lichtenbroich - Ratingen-Mitte)
- 896 (Airport - Messegelände (during exhibitions only))
When there is an exhibition or trade fair in Düsseldorf, our bus route no. 896 takes you directly to the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center. An admission ticket to trade fairs in Düsseldorf is valid for travelling to and from the Exhibition Center.
