 Tickets & fares

For all journeys within Düsseldorf or other towns, a price level A ticket is all you need. For short distances (Max. 3 stops) a short-distance ticket is sufficient. Exact information is displayed at each stop.

Price level B tickets allow you to travel to neighbouring cities and sometimes even further. For example, a price level Zone B ticket for Düsseldorf would include Düsseldorf, Ratingen/Heiligenhaus, Mettmann/Wülfrath, Erkrath/Haan/Hilden, Neuss/Kaarst, Meerbusch and Duisburg center/south.

Price level C ist intended for medium range trips. It is valid in two adjacent central tariff zones of your chosing as well as all tariff zones adjacent to them.

Tickets in price level D are valid thoughout the entire VRR area.

Within the five fare types a variety of tickets is available - from the annual subscription to the single ticket. They are on sale at Rheinbahn Service Centers, in many shops and kiosks and at ticket machines at the stops. All municipal railway coaches and trams have ticket machines. In our buses, you can purchase your ticket from the driver.
